Circles work because they feel safe enough to be honest in. These guidelines exist to protect that — for everyone, on their worst days as much as their best.
Healio is peer support, not therapy or crisis care. If you're in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline — in India, Tele-MANAS is available free on 14416, any hour.
Healio has no likes, no follower counts, and no algorithmic feed on purpose — there's nothing here to perform for. The only thing we're optimising for is whether someone felt safer telling the truth after using the app than before. Read every guideline below in that light.
2. What's welcome
Saying the hard thing. Heavy, messy, unresolved feelings are exactly what Circles are for — you don't need to soften them here.
Holding space. Instead of liking a post, you can let someone know you're with them. A short, kind reply always counts for more than advice no one asked for.
Sharing what helped you. If you've been through something similar, saying so — briefly, without making it about you — is often the most useful thing you can post.
Using the daily prompt. It's there so no one has to face a blank box; answering it honestly is the easiest way to start.
Asking for space or silence. It's okay to post something and not want responses. Say so, and other members should respect it.
3. What's not allowed

Harassment, threats, or demeaning another member
Hate speech or discrimination of any kind
Sharing someone's private information without consent (doxxing)
Content that encourages or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or violence
Sexual content or solicitation of any kind
Impersonating another person, a Healer, or Healio staff
Also not allowed
Advertising, spam, or soliciting business unrelated to peer support
Diagnosing others or presenting personal opinion as clinical/medical advice
Screenshotting or sharing another member's post outside Healio
Bots, scripts, or automated posting
Attempting to move a Healer conversation off-platform to avoid billing or moderation
Being under 18 — Healio is an 18+ space
4. Circle-specific etiquette
Stay on the circle's topic. If a post about grief needs a heartbreak circle instead, it's okay to gently say so, but let a moderator move it rather than piling on.
Skip the advice unless it's asked for. "Have you tried..." often lands worse than "that sounds really hard."
Respect anonymity. Don't try to guess or announce who's behind an alias, even if you think you know.
Leave a circle that no longer fits you, rather than arguing that it should be different.
5. Interacting with Healers
Healers are verified peers, not staff, and not licensed clinicians. Treat a Healer session like the honest, respectful conversation it's meant to be — and know that Healers can end a session or report a user for abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour, same as any member can report a Healer. See our Safety Code for the standards Healers themselves are held to.

7. How enforcement works
What happens next depends on severity and history — a first, minor slip is usually a warning and content removal; harassment, safety threats, or repeated violations can mean a temporary or permanent suspension. Anything suggesting immediate danger to someone is escalated as a priority, separate from routine moderation.

If your content was removed or your account restricted and you think it was a mistake, email help@healio.club with your account details and why you're appealing. We'll review it and let you know the outcome.
