Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Healio is built around anonymity, so we try to collect as little as we reasonably can — and to be plain about what we do collect, why, and who can see it. This policy covers the Healio app and healio.club.

Healio is peer support, not therapy or crisis care. If you're in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline — in India, Tele-MANAS is available free on 14416, any hour.

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run Healio:

  • Account information: a phone number or email to create your account, and a display name if you choose to set one (most people don't, and post under a circle alias instead).
  • Content you share: posts, prompt responses, and messages you send in Circles or to Healers.
  • Session data: call and chat metadata for Healer sessions — who you spoke with, when, and for how long — needed for billing and safety, not the content of audio/video calls, which we don't record.
  • Check-in data: the daily mood tap ("heavy, anxious, okay, hopeful") you use to arrive at the app.
  • Payment information: handled by our payment processor — see Payment information below.
  • Device and usage data: device type, app version, crash logs, and basic usage analytics, collected automatically to keep the app working.

2. How anonymity works

Posts in Circles are shown to other members as a circle alias (e.g. "Someone in Heartbreak"), not your account name. Other members and Healers cannot see your phone number, email, or real name unless you choose to share it directly in a conversation.

Anonymity is about what other users see — it isn't the same as us having no record at all. Internally, every post and message is still linked to an account so we can act on safety reports, respond to legal requests, and keep the platform free of abuse. We do not display this link to other users.

3. How we use information

  • To operate Circles, the daily check-in, and Healer sessions.
  • To process payments and payouts for per-minute Healer sessions.
  • To keep the community safe — reviewing reports, enforcing our Community Guidelines and Safety Code, and preventing abuse, harassment, or impersonation.
  • To respond when a post suggests someone may be at risk of harm, in line with our safety protocols.
  • To fix bugs, improve reliability, and understand aggregate, de-identified usage patterns.
  • To meet legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not use your posts or messages to train third-party advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Circles and Healer sessions

Circles are peer spaces — content you post is visible to other members of that circle under your alias. Healer sessions are one-to-one, by message, audio, or video call. Healers are independent, identity-verified individuals, not Healio employees, and see the same alias-level information as any other user unless you choose to share more.

If you report a Healer or another user, we may review the relevant messages or session metadata as part of investigating that report.

5. Payment information

Joining Circles is free. Healer sessions are billed per minute from a wallet you top up in-app. Card, UPI, and other payment details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor directly — Healio does not store your full card or bank details on its own servers. We keep a record of top-ups, session charges, and payouts to Healers for accounting, billing support, and tax purposes.

6. When we share information

We share information only where it's needed to run Healio:

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, process payments, send notifications, or provide customer support — bound by contracts to use data only for those purposes.
  • Healers, limited to what's needed to provide your session, as described above.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, to protect someone from harm, or to enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
  • Business transfers — if Chingari Media is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your real identity with other users or Healers without your consent.

7. Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active, plus a limited period afterward to handle disputes, comply with legal or tax obligations, and prevent abuse (for example, someone banned for harassment re-registering under a new alias). You can request earlier deletion — see Your rights below.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and routine security review to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection — but we treat the sensitivity of what people share on Healio as a first-order design constraint, not an afterthought.

9. Your rights and choices

  • Access and correction: you can review and update most of your information from within the app.
  • Deletion: you can delete your account at any time from Settings, or by emailing help@healio.club — see our Delete Your Account page for exact steps. This removes your account information and unlinks your posts from your identity; some records may be retained where we have a legal or safety obligation to keep them.
  • Notifications: you can opt out of non-essential push notifications and marketing messages in Settings.
  • Data export: you can request a copy of your data by contacting us at the address below.

10. Children's privacy

Healio is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete that account and associated data.

11. Where your data is stored

Healio is built by Chingari Media Pvt Ltd, based in India, and our infrastructure providers may store and process data in India and other countries where they operate. Wherever your data is processed, we require the same standard of protection described in this policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Healio evolves. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
